Bring old laptop, power supply, new laptop with space for the data, power supply, and/or a hard drive or flash drive to store the recovered data. Success is not guaranteed, at the least you will have a diagnosis.

Backing up your stuff is important

An external hard drive, or a flash drive, or an online account will be needed. External hard drive is highly recommended.

Internet Security
Feel Safe? Take steps to ensure it.

Good Passwords are a first step. Saving your passwords is second. Avoiding bad websites is third. Under standing the bad guy's techniques is fourth.
